Indigenous People Month

Image
Draft blog #3 October is Indigenous Peoples Month in the Philippines, a time to celebrate the rich diversity of Indigenous cultures and to reflect on the progress made and the challenges that remain in protecting their rights. This year marks the 27th anniversary of the Indigenous Peoples Rights Act (IPRA), a landmark law designed to safeguard their ancestral lands, cultural practices, and self-determination. Protection Violence About Children

Image
Protecting Children, Creating a Safe Philippines"-surely proves to be a call to action, a power that stands to awaken the Filipino people to the reality of protecting our children and creating a safe environment where they would grow and thrive. This is a serious problem we need to acknowledge in the Philippines-violence against children-is not alright and needs to be stopped by all means. We ought to show information on various forms of violence: from corporal, overt abuse to neglect and exploitation. We have to promote positive parenting and support families in need. We can only speak so much, but we have to act. That means strengthening child protection systems, providing support services for children who were hurt, and making sure perpetrators are held accountable. Together, we can break the cycle of violence and create a Philippines where every child is safe and can really reach his or her full potential. There are no ifs or buts about it; the world is heating up and the Philippines is bearing the brunt of this abuse and mismanagement. Cyclones and Typhoons are no longer a seasonal occurrence and rather have become frequent calamities destroying infrastructure, businesses and rendering people into poverty. With the temperature of the sea water rising and the acidity levels steaming, the ocean life and coral ...
